Public Safety

Every Tracy family deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood.

  • I am proud to have earned the endorsement of Tracy Firefighters Association Local #3355.
  • As chair of the Finance Committee and as your City Council Member, I funded our new police substation and three new fire stations — these projects are currently in the design phase.
  • As a Committee Member of the South San Joaquin Fire Authority JPA Board, I helped bring Tracy's first Surge Ambulance to the South San Joaquin Fire Authority.
  • I helped build the first-of-its-kind fire training facility in Tracy — both of these are currently serving our community today.
  • Continuing to expand community policing programs and invest in mental health crisis response resources.

Business Friendly

As longtime business owners, my wife and I understand the importance of working in a business-friendly environment.

  • During my first term on city council, I fought successfully to keep the Measure B business tax low to ensure our local businesses have a great shot at success in Tracy.
  • I supported re-building our city's Business Development Department.
  • I assisted in the crafting of a new business-friendly policy that helps ensure successful outcomes for our business owners.

Bringing Businesses Residents Want

Since being elected, I've done my part in rebuilding our Economic Development Department and implementing policies that help us bring long-desired businesses to Tracy.

  • Helped rebuild the Economic Development Department to actively recruit businesses Tracy residents want.
  • During my first term we brought Trader Joe's to Tracy.
  • Helped bring Crunch Fitness to our community.
  • Sprouts is currently under construction and coming soon.
  • Dutch Bros. Coffee is pending groundbreaking — among many others.

Honoring Our Veterans and Their Families

Serving those who have served us is a civic duty — one Dan has championed from day one.

  • Even before I was elected in 2022 I felt strongly that it was my civic duty to honor those that have given us so much.
  • In 2021 I urged the City Council to re-evaluate their decision not to allow the Gold Star Flag to fly at City Hall, annually during Gold Star Family Day. The flag was approved and has flown every year since to honor families that have lost a loved one defending our freedom overseas.
  • During my first elected term, I am proud to have requested and received council support to publicly recognize new enlistees in City Council chambers before they ship out to serve our country.

  • TRAC- Tracy Recreational Activity Center. In construction, opening planned for summer of 2027.
  • Tracy Aquatic Center- Groundbreaking planned for 2028.
  • Tracy BMX Pump Track- Opened on April 28, 2026.
  • Gretchen Tally Park (ongoing renovation) - Dog Park, Pickleball Courts, Basketball Courts, Outdoor Fitness Equipment and more.

Economic Development

  • Streamline permitting to help small businesses open faster
  • Support the Tracy downtown revitalization effort

  • Supported planning for a future Animal Shelter.

Housing & Infrastructure

  • Approved the City's Housing Element.
  • Approved the Triway residential development.

  • Voted to waive attorney-client privilege to increase transparency regarding the former City Attorney.
  • Supported stronger City/School collaboration.
  • Served on the Finance Committee.

Community

  • Supported the Military Recognition Policy honoring new enlistees, veterans, Gold Star and Blue Star families.*
